Invisalign Clear Braces in Madison, WI
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a set of plastic aligners custom made for individual patients. For many, it is a superior alternative to traditional braces for straightening crooked teeth. Invisalign is an effective way to improve the cosmetic look of a smile. However, there are also many oral health benefits to using Invisalign. It can be used to treat the following conditions:
- Gapped teeth
- Over bite
- Under bite
- Open bite
- Cross bite
- Overly crowded teeth
How Does Invisalign Work?
First, the dental team at Oak Park Dental will meet with you during a consultation appointment. After working out each step of the Invisalign treatment process for you, one of our dentists will create a digital 3-D image of your teeth using x-rays, impressions, and pictures. From there, a custom set of plastic aligners are created and sent to the patient. Every two weeks, the patient will progress to a new pair of plastic aligners, which will gradually move your teeth into proper alignment. Periodically, we'll invite you in to Oak Park Dental, so our dental team can mark how your treatment is progressing, but there won't be the painful adjustments you'd experience with traditional braces. For the best results, it is recommended that you wear Invisalign for at least 20 hours a day throughout the treatment process.
Why Choose Invisalign?
With traditional braces, patients can experience irritation and have difficulty with brushing and flossing due to the wires and brackets used. With Invisalign, these problems don't occur for the patient. Invisalign provides a comfortable and convenient way to straighten your teeth with minimal interference to your life. Invisalign is effective no matter what life stage you're at. Here is just a short list of some of the benefits to using Invisalign over traditional braces:
- The aligners are clear and virtually invisible to the human eye.
- The aligners are made from plastic resulting in a comfortable and smooth texture.
- The aligners can be easily removed for brushing, flossing, and eating.
- The aligners can be effortlessly cleaned.
- Unlike braces, there are no food restrictions with Invisalign.
